The Poison Arrows, a three-piece band from Chicago comprised of bassist Patrick Morris (ex Don Caballero), drummer Adam Reach, and guitarist, vocalist Justin Sinkovich (ex Atombombpocketknife, Thumbnail) appeared on our radar way back in 2009 when their debut album First Class, and Forever landed in our albums of the year list for that year, but then they promptly disappeared again, taking a hiatus after 2010’s Newfound Resolutions that lasted until 2015 when they started gigging again and in April they delivered their 3rd album, No Known Note.
They’ve just completed a new video for the second song on the album, “No Known Note (Part II).” The video was made by Chicago video producer Colin Cubr and shows the band at work on the song at Electrical Audio Studio with recording engineer Greg Norman (not the golfer, we assume!).
The video provides a very realistic account of the days in the studio recording this song and the album as a whole. In addition to the footage of the band recording the song, there are many shots that capture the often slow moments of listening, discussing, and note taking. Cubr and the band wanted to provide an honest look at what working on a The Poison Arrows album is like, focused, methodical and sometimes tedious.
