MONO are not a band to do things by half. The majestic title track of their new album, ‘Requiem For Hell’, is the 17 minute centre piece of an album that is MONO at their finest and most cinematic. It is fitting then, that the accompanying video (for an edit of the track) be just as beautiful and dramatic.

The Japanese post-rock pioneers returned to producer, Steve Albini, to record their third album together. Requiem For Hell is an album that explores the boundaries of MONO’s dynamics; gentle orchestration sits alongside cacophonous sonic peaks.

Requiem For Hell will be released on October 14 through Pelagic Records, and the band will embark on an extensive European tour with Alcest in November. You can pre-order the CD here and the LP here. Watch the amazing video for ‘Requiem For Hell’ below. The video was directed by Harri Haataja, filmed by Vesa Ranta and was based on a screenplay by Sayoko Hirai.
