Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash by Black Nite Crash

The number of the bands weaned on the key alternative sounds of the eighties is sprawling like mushrooms these days. Some come up with an interesting and truly pleasing sound along the way, others are just sounding like big fans of a certain artist or a number of them.

Seattle’s Black Nite Crash seem to have quite an extensive and varied collection of eighties sounds, sprinkled with their extension in the nighties, and listening to Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash you get the impression that they have a very tasteful collection at that.

Throw in anything in here that comes to mind – The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, Throwing Muses, Lightning Seeds, and the list goes on. At the same time though, having good taste is quite a solid base for coming up with some tasteful sounds on your own and Jim Biggs (vocals, guitar), John Parker (bass), James Stone(guitar), Tony Zuniga (drums) and Claire Tucker (guitar/vocals), do exactly that with their dual vocals and triple guitars.

Yes, this music came along well before Black Nite Crash, but it doesn’t really matter as the quintet comes up with a combination that does it true justice here.
