Jeremiah Nelson


I grew up listening to my parent’s 80’s metal on 8-track and cassette tape. Early Metallica, Def Leppard, and Alice Cooper shaped my young musical taste. I got in to a lot of punk and hardcore in the mid-to-late 90’s. These days I prefer my music pissed off (Nails, HOLY), fast and technical (The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Nile), slow and sludgey (Weedeater, Crowbar) or full of despair (Stomach Earth, Primitive Man). If it’s heavy, I want to hear it.

I play bass and guitar. I’ve played with enough great musicians to know that I am mediocre at best, but I love playing music. I’ve played live enough to know that I love that as well. I’m not currently playing with anyone except myself (ha). I’m also a tech nerd. I spend some time writing about Android and tech, and enjoy keeping up with new technology.

I have a lovely wife. We live in Richmond, Virginia, on the east coast of the United States. I also father twin 3-year old boys that I am already introducing to Amon Amarth and Gojira. They love it.
