This artistic collaboration between Italian pianist/composer Maria Chiara Argirò and Portuguese illustrator/animator Pedro Oliveira (My Elastic Brain), transcends geographical and artistic boundaries to explore art as a powerful force for connection.
Inspired by their own chance encounter online – a meeting which would not have been possible in the pre-internet age – the pair are keen to explore connections made not because of who people are, but because of their artistic work. They believe forming ‘true’ artistic connections is important in this day and age where it is easy to loose faith and let go of dreams.
“I felt that things perceived as impossible in reality suddenly came to life through Pedro’s animations – like eating a mountain. All the images and feelings I had in my head when composing the tune suddenly became real and tangible.” – Maria Chiara Argirò
