Anfinnsaas is a duo that was formed by Knut Finsaas and Geir Anfinn Halland Johansen in 2013, in the middle of Norway. They recently released their self-titled debut album on Autumnsongs Records, which is an earth-shattering blend of Nordic traditional music and metal. Taking their main inspiration from traditional Nordic tunes, Anfinnsaas wanted to have a fresh and new sound that differs from the metal sound of today. The duo format gives the band room to explore new ways of playing and incorporating different soundscapes, as well as allowing them the freedom to indulge in an over-the-top instruments, without heading into self-indulgence.
‘Svensk Revelje’ is the opening song from their self-titled album Anfinnsaas. The song is heavily based on a rhythm pattern borrowed from an old drum reveille from Sweden. The band’s audio assault starts with an attack of blast beats and heavy guitar riffing, and then it evolves around the reveille rhythm, before turning into a growling guitar and double bass drum part from the depths of the old army bunker it was recorded in.
Anfinnsaas added “We’re exited that Echoes And Dust is premiering ‘Svensk Revelje’. We hope you’ll like it!”
