GOLD hail from Rotterdam in the Netherlands and their music is best described as dark rock, combined with ‘post-everything’. Last year they released their latest album No Image through Profound Lore Records (NA) and Ván Records (EU), which received high praise throughout the world. When Luke Henley reviewed No Image for Echoes and Dust he said: “GOLD has managed to fracture its own identity and re-assemble it in a drastic and bold way. No Image is a breathtaking example of how a shift in tone and focus can launch a band so far past its initial offering as to almost become unrecognizable as the same band. This is a confident and evolved step that feels authentic and absolutely fearless.”
We are proud to bring you the exclusive première of the band’s latest video ‘Old Habits’, which you can watch below. The band has the following to say about the video: “Old Habits comes with another hyper-realistic hypnotic trip, which kind of has become our trademark for the video clips of our No Image album. This video is a mosaic of violence, assembling the light and the darkness, the personal and the political. Humanity is better at creating new ways of violence than at banning out the old ones, enabling a dynamic narrative.”
GOLD is about to go on a tour with hardcore metal/punk legends Converge, which is quite a surprising combination of bands. The band comments: “This is sure to be interesting! Such a diverse line-up offering outlets for a variety of emotions and energy. We expect that 95% of the attendees have never heard of GOLD before. If they bring their open minds, this could be a feast for all.”
