Wartorn play brash hardcore ideal for working out to or venting the day’s frustrations via a little bedroom mosh. Packed full of some real pushing, old school hardcore that the current scene could really do with right now.
The combined title and first track starts off with a catchy, head-nodding beat that explodes into a circle pit, sing along friendly future classic. Definitely my favourite of the bunch. Form here on in it keeps a familiar and sturdy pace, which makes it a good record to work to (in my opinion) as it is enjoyable but not constantly changing all over the shop. You need at least a few records like this in your collection to keep you rolling through a busy day’s activities.
With staying, melodic moments alongside chugging riffs and unforgiving vocals this record packs punches from all corners of the hardcore genre, Tragedy, Terror, Hatebreed and possibly even Defeater fans should be pretty satisfied with this, maybe even a few burgeoning metalheads.
Perhaps a little static and lacking further exploration by sticking to the same track throughout, but still a solid album full of enjoyable music. Either way, if you’re not hooked by the end of the first track then maybe this record isn’t for you, but I think you’d be pretty hard pushed to not feel anything by the end of it.
