North London based Art rock collective For Breakfast announce their long-awaited and eagerly anticipated debut album Longer Than Spring with the release of the title track. ‘Longer Than Spring’ is a song of contrasts and encapsulates the album’s tug-of-war between serenity and fear, introspection and catharsis, with its moments of structure and improvisational freakouts. Wounded yet hopeful vocals are backed by a slow-building ensemble of flute, saxophone, and guitars, blossoming with tender confidence before collapsing into swirling chaos and existential angst.
The band have spent the last 6 years or so building a reputation for mesmerising live performances across stages such as Portals Festival, Sounds From the Other City, Supersonic Block Party, Left of the Dial and a tour with LA’s Wand in 2024 and their most recent headline shows have featured arrangements with ‘the Borkestra’, a ramshackle collective of guest string, horn and woodwind players. They are truly an aural treat when in full flight & we are very excited for the upcoming album, which will be released on May 15th and can be pre-ordered now through Bandcamp.
In the meantime, get this in your ears:
