Sometimes, the smallest contender packs the mightiest punch. With Lighteater’s debut EP Antique we get whacked with four of the finest instrumental tunes this decade. You’re left wanting more yet, you are surprisingly satisfied with the New York four pieces’ first offering to the aural world.
The whole album, as the title implies, has a huge feel of nostalgia to it. It did for me anyway. Yet it in no way feels dated or contrived. It’s a heavy, rocking adventure which envelopes you in its charisma.
I felt as if I was with my good mates, sitting on the porch, regaling in stories of the latest surf adventure we embarked on. The classic fish stories which make you smile, have a touch of machismo, the right amount of bullshit and leave you nodding in absolute approval. Completely craving the next adventure, the next wave.
Lighteater have invited you on a journey. One that has only just begun…
