Throttlerod are a 3-piece from Richmond, Virginia in the United States and they are about to release their fourth album Turncoat through Small Stone Records on June 24th. Throughout its 12 songs Turncoat provides a great slab of post-hardcore infused dissonant and aggressive noise rock. It’s not just noisey rock though, as there are many layers of intricate melodies that keep on creeping up throughout the release, which make Turncoat stand out from the rest of the noise rock crowd.
We’re proud to bring you the exclusive première of the fourth track of the album, ‘Lima’, which you can hear below. Guitarist and vocalist Matt Whitehead had this to say about ‘Lima’: The initial idea for Lima was something I had put together using 3-4 bass tracks and no guitar. Once we got in the same room with the ideas, Kevin fought with it for a while and then changed the feel of it by adding this unexpected, Bonham-esque shuffle beat. Lima is definitely one of the weirder and more moody tracks we’ve recorded. It’s also one of our personal favorites on this album.
