‘ICAUNA’ is the first chapter from Belgian outfit THOT’s highly anticipated new record, FLEUVE. ICAUNA is the Latin name of l’Yonne, the river that runs through the region of France where THOT’s mastermind, Grégoire Fray, was born. In this track, brilliantly visualised by motion designer Antoine de Schuyter, the Belgian post-industrial rockers build an epic surge of drums, analog synths and guitars, slowly concluding into a Bulgarian choir begging for its sequel, called ‘ODRA’, the video for which will follow at the end of June.
FLEUVE is to be released 20th of October on Weyrd Son Records on vinyl & digital.
“This track is the initiation of the idea of ‘rivers’ in THOT’s new album, FLEUVE.” says motion designer Antoine de Schuyter, who’ve been crafting this video. “From its fragile source to its teeming strength & indomitable power, I tried to show the feeling this song inspires me. Therefore, the most suitable language to express myself is organic material, textures and mixing fluids, that I use in studio, to re-create a certain idea of chaos, at my scale”. Antoine de Schuyter works in Brussels for Lovo Films and has created many clips and vj sets for among others Dj Pone, Venetian Snares, Dank, Plaid, Kangding Ray, Roel Funcken (Funckarma), Noisia.
