English folk artists Stylusboy and Jess Morgan have recorded a special live version of the Huey Lewis and the News classic song ‘The Power of Love’ to celebrate Record Store Day 2013. The song originally comes from the Back the Future soundtrack, a film that Steve and Rachel from Stylusboy and Jess list as one of their favourites. Steve, Rachel and Jess arranged and recorded ‘The Power of Love’ (along with much tea drinking!) during few creative hours in Rachel’s lounge one Saturday afternoon. The song is being released as free download on April 20th 2013.
Steve Stylusboy and Jess Morgan have been friends for a number of years after discovering each other’s music ‘back in the day’ on Myspace. After emails and demo swaps, a series of live shows together took place, including a house show at Jess’ house. Stylusboy released a live recording of this show as Four Walls back in 2012. The idea of collaborating came about when Jess booked a show in Coventry earlier this month.
