Only Echoes Remain from UK: Find Us
In 50 words or less, tell us what you sound like?
Climactic, cinematic, intense and moving instrumental rock symphonies. Often playing with dynamics, our music travels through light and dark, quiet and loud - just as our songs tell a story of mankind's journey to distant worlds.

We are an ambitious, new instrumental rock group acutely aware of how saturated and 'samey' the 'post-rock' genre is. Our goal is to find and develop our original voice in the space, while writing and playing music we are genuinely passionate about.
Our debut EP, of which we have recorded demos of some of the tracks so far, is a concept record, telling a narrative in 2 Acts and 5 songs - our live show seeks to follow this.
Through the narrative we tell, the different backgrounds each member of the band have (prog, metal, post and stoner/alt rock), and the unusually realistic and objective awareness we have of how saturated the genre is, I believe we already stand out, even this early on.
Without wishing to sound too egotistical, hopefully people will agree that we're 'one's to watch'!
If you had to pick one of your tracks for our readers to listen to, which would it be?
Of the songs we've recorded so far, probably Distant Echoes. It marks the turning point from the first to the second 'acts' of the narrative, and so starts really melancholic, gentle and introspective, but then explodes at the end and moves into heavier territory. "It's probably one of our most emotional songs as well.
Give us 3 bands you’d recommend we listen to?
I assume you mean outside of the 'usual suspects'? (those being our previously cited influences, plus amazing bands like Her Name Is Calla, Rumour Cubes, Nordic Giants, etc.)
We played our first show with this amazing band Lions After Slumber. It was also one of their first shows, so we were all feeling nervous together before showtime haha. They're awesome though, kinda mathy but still strong post sections. I'd say in a similar vein to Waking Aida (another awesome band, incidentally!), but slightly more towards post on the math-post scale. Definitely ones to watch!
What inspires your music?
As mentioned our first EP is a concept record, so the music has come from the story we tell. Arran (guitar) had these two complimentary song ideas, roughly recorded in his bedroom, which he brought to the table when the band first started jamming, and the rest basically developed out from there.
Obviously we're influenced by the music and other bands we love in this space, but having the overarching story in our minds, the vision for this narrative, really helped guide us during the writing process!
What we say:
When these guys first came to us with their demo a few weeks ago we were impressed; two tracks of well constructed, thoughtful post rock. While they maybe haven't quite found their own unique voice yet there is definitely the kernel of something special here and having now seen them live (in only their 2nd ever show) we are increasingly convinced that these are guys to keep an eye out for.
