We really have no clue about the reason for this, not even the fourteen minute EP of Strigoi, and we won’t waste much energy or words on it. Besides the re-polished title track ‘Bathed in A Black Sun’, which appeared already on their awesome album Viscera we get four unreleased songs from the Viscera recording sessions. Unreleased? Not at all!
Two tracks ‘The Grotesque’ and ‘A Spear of Perfect Grief’ are taken from 7 inches that were included with a special vinyl edition of Viscera. And the track ‘The Construct of Misery’ comes from a Flexi Disc of an American heavy metal magazine based in Philadelphia.
The die hard fans will probably fall into this commercial trap and we can only wait (with disappointment) for some new Strigoi work and spend instead our money on the re-recorded version of Paradise Lost’s legendary album Icon. Well, we are still big fans of Strigoi but please don’t fool us again.
