Human Worth are pumped to present the second single from Norwich two-piece Kulk‘s immense new album It Gets Worse.
The band say of the single: “This video montage features clips from our album launch at Voodoo Daddy’s Norwich for It Gets Worse. Predominately filmed on a 90s 8mm handy cam, before it died mid set. ‘A Heavy Sigh’ is the opening full length track on the new record and explodes into a tornado of whaling guitar and thunderous drums.
“This track in keeping with the theme of the record explores wrestling with knowing and identifying desire that causes you harm but choosing it above all else regardless. This is not a reflection on hard work paying off, it is devoid of those connotations. ‘A Heavy Sigh’ simply seeks to remind the listener that all that we seek and wish is death by a thousand cuts.”
Kulk’s latest album It Gets Worse comes two-and-a-half years after the release of their thunderous and experimental sophomore record We Spare Nothing which saw them define their unique and monolithic brand of heavy doom and sludge. Teaming up again with producer Wayne Adams (Petbrick / Big Lad) Jade Ashleigh (drums) and Thom Longdin (vocals & guitar) have further defined their sound across this new release, focusing on louder and more aggressive cuts and hitting a new stride – elevating their sound into something unstoppable.
The record also features special guest Adam Ian Sykes of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, who approached the band about lending some guest guitar to the album, which was captured in an exciting on-the-road shredding session.
Released on May 17, It Gets Worse is available via BANDCAMP as a limited edition of stunning ‘Pink & Black Swirl’ vinyl with 10% of all sales proceeds donated to the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund.
