Lodo (‘mud’ in Spanish) take their name and inspiration from the way of playing post-metal for bands such as Neurosis, Pelican, Cult Of Luna and Moho. As the music of these bands is a sludge-doom at times, or always, completely instrumental, full of darkness, multilayered and thick, almost like mud, the band thought of this name like a way to express these ideas.
The band joined the Third I Rex roster when they released their split with Spanish doom outfit Hela. Now Lodo is back with their much anticipated self-titled LP, which will be released on June 25th by Third I Rex and Nooirax Producciones.
