Well, you can do what Douglas (20) did and start a blackened d-beat/crust band. A constructive way of letting all that frustration and anger culminate to produce wall-to-wall noise terror. The type of noise that makes me so happy, I mustered a wee smile. Just by listening to his band Deaf Kids, basically a one-man project from Rio, Brazil -that has managed to get some momentum and members to tour- with various influences from Discharge, Disclose and various Scandinavian hardcore punk bands from times forgotten.
The title of the new Deaf Kids cassette is simple I am the Sickness and is limited to 100 copies. Composed over many years by Douglas himself, it is sure to go down in the books as one of the filthiest and raw noise crust tapes ever. The 6-track cassette perpetually screams your fucking face off from start to finish. It has that d-beat drum signature sound with the buzz saw like guitar distortion that would bring a smile to anyone with an appreciation for raw noise destruction. It’s basically harsh noise embodied in a fucking cassette.
The “make noise not music” approach means it has grit, passion and really gives you something to cling onto, with little or no mastering to speak of. It has a very D.I.Y. feel, which makes it quite unique. The tape is basically moving into a neocrust-like sound, especially fusion of d-beat and crust with a blackened feel to it, which probably has some kind of black metal influence somewhere. It just sounds fucking evil man and the aggression can only be described as being filled with lead from a .50Cal machine gun as it rattles your lifeless corpse to the core.
Filthy tunes for filthy people! So if you consider yourself a d-beat noisemarine, I would definitely get my filthy paws on one of these tapes. Do yourself a massive favour and piss everyone around you off with some harsh noise from South America.
