When flautist, singer/songwriter Siân Greenaway aka Bobbie Dazzle unleashed her first album Fandabidozi last year on the Rise Above label, it proved that the glam movement has shined brightly on Siân’s head. She has proven herself that she’s more than just the front woman for Alunah, she wanted to branch out and lay out those glam orientations in her heart and soul.
The next two songs are like a leap-forward into her progressive, hard rock, folky, and sending in massive amounts of thunders to keep the spirit of real good music alive in the hearts and minds of churning out more killer compositions that Bobbie has been making.
So, with the ascending gods of thunder laying down more lightning on guitars, bass, and drums for the ‘Spotlight’ to begin, the rhythm section lends her a helping hand to spread her wings, and prepping herself to soar across the English countryside in its full glory. You think of the wonders in Alice Cooper’s Welcome to my Nightmare, Isaac Hayes funky riffs from the wah-wah pedals, Girlschool, and T. Rex with more flute orientations that would have made Thjis van Leer and Ian Anderson very happy to see that the flute is more than just a heavy metal instrument!
Next up is ‘Watch Out’ it starts out with Bobbie’s tip of the hat to Lenny Kravitz’s riff to ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’, but with a flash of lightning that hits you like crazy. There is the power-pop influences that Bobbie puts into the stew. Think the Raspberries and Badfinger working together to create this engine-driven song, kicking it in all high gear, but adding in that Zeppelin and Sweet orientation, mixed in with the keyboard carousel section into the mix.
That’s how Bobbie knows her source material very, very well. I can’t wait to see and hear what she’ll come up with next for the next adventure by continuing where she has left off in her debut release. We’ll have to keep (no pun intended) a watch out for her to see what 2026 has in store for Bobbie Dazzle.
