ShitNoise is a noise punk band hailing from Monte-Carlo (Monaco). Formed in February 2022, the band has undergone several line-up changes in its short but very productive gestation. Currently, it consists of Aleksejs Macions on vocals and guitar, Vova Dictor on guitar, and Paul Albouy on drums.
With their third album, I Cocked My Gun And Shot My Best Friend, ShitNoise shows the world their most energetic and mature work to this day. Departing from their previous noise-centric approach, the band introduces a fusion of grungy guitar riffs, metal-influenced double-kick drums, and a more mature production style, demonstrating their versatility and willingness to experiment with different genres. This is also the first ShitNoise record with real drums! Paul Albouy was able to record his parts on this album in a very high quality!
This album began as a grunge record, channelling energy from bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, The Sonics, and early Garage-Punk-inspired Gilla Band. Its thematic core revolves around the dual narrative of confronting the harsh realities of living in a damned society and the long-lasting psychological effects of traumatic events. Through its gritty soundscapes and stream-of-consciousness lyrics, the record paints an ugly portrait of present-day existence and the enduring human spirit in the face of relentless adversity.
ShitNoise is also well known for their distinct cover versions and their tutorial ‘How To Be Noise Rock’, which became “quite popular” on YouTube.
Their latest single, ‘The Ballroom Brawl’ is not set in a ballroom or at all influenced by The Sweet. Nonetheless, “The Girl in the corner said ‘Boy. I want to warn ya…'” This video may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
