Subjected To A Partying by Party Cannon

Release date: March 27, 2026
Label: Unique Leader Records

Party Cannon belong to that category of band who take metal and turn it into a parody of itself (see also: Lawnmower Deth). At heart, a ridiculous genre, they accentuate this to new levels. It therefore makes it difficult to review anything seriously on this EP but turn that’s the point. It’s not meant to be taken seriously.

Known for increasingly over the top live shows featuring any number of inflatable battles in the pit, the tracks on this EP serve as new fodder for those slam-death parties. Churning riffs, erratic blast beats, vocals ranging from growls to frog burps with the odd hardcore shout thrown in, it’s certainly not easy listening. Or the kind of listening experience where you grasp on to some kind of melody, mood, or anything. Just anything.

Nope, Party Cannon are anti this and do you know what? This is what makes them so special. The music within may horrify the casual observer but for us looks who love a bit of extreme inflatable moshing then you can’t ask for more. The late John Perl would have loved these, and through that would come some arch critical admiration. Thankfully we are free of that nonsense and can just enjoy the band for what they are. The greatest slam-death party loons that you could ever meet. Long may they reign in absolute silliness.
