I have been a metal head ever since the day my older brother played me the opening riffs to Black Sabbath’s Paranoid. From that moment on I lived the speed and aggression that is heavy metal. I was lucky as a youth as no matter where we were as a family there was always music around us. My mother played it in the house almost all the time or in the car on trips (sometimes with a portable 8-track tape player-Google it youngins’) wherever we were I was gaining an appreciation for music. But my love has always been with heavy metal, the imagery, the passion, the uniqueness and the honesty of metal is something you don’t necessarily find in other music and that makes me love it even more. I am humbled that I get the opportunity to write about the music I love.I currently live in the Washington DC area but was born and raised a city boy in Pittsburgh PA.
