Caspian absolutely slayed at ArcTangent, despite a technical hicup that saw the stage lose all power just as they were about to let rip, and were widely regarded as one of the standout moments of this year’s festival. Magda Wrzeszcz saw Roger Goula play at the Cognitive Shift Recordings label launch, which was held in collaboration with Chaos Theory. “Roger Goula instantly became one of my artists to watch and it seems he’s destined for greatness and I wouldn’t be surprised if his name was soon mentioned next to contemporary classical giants like Nils Frahm or Olafur Arnalds.”

Jake Murray went to the spectacle that was Converge: Blood Moon at the Electric Brixton in London. “The seemingly mandatory final blast of rage that sprayed the room with fury and hurled us into the smoggy Brixton night, with our faces melted, our underpants wet, and just wishing that, for fuck’s sake, they’d just made it a fucking all-dayer so we could’ve got a snack between bands.”
