Dose by India Tigers in Texas

Release date: February 13, 2026
Label: Geodesic Records

Dose? And it is quite a heavy one at that. Well, they just seem to be coming up with some strange, psychedelic brews down in Texas, in this case, in the city of Galveston, as some high-quality psych keeps coming up from that state for some six decades, probably initiated with the legendary psych luminaries that were Rocky Erickson and his The 13th Floor Elevators.

Carrying the torch are India Tigers in Texas (perfectly fitting name for a psych band), with Dose, an equally aptly titled album. And yes, their sound carries that tradition in full, fuelled by that unmistakable garage spirit doused in heavy guitar psychedelia throughout the eight tracks here.

On this, their second album, Mel Mo’ Black – vocals, theremin, keys, percussion; Jaron Hall – vocals, guitar; Kevin Barnes – bass, vocals; Victhor Resendiz – drums went into the studio as a well-oiled machine, as they have been perfecting their sound and these songs extensively in front of the live audiences sharing the stage with a motley psych crew that included Death Valley Girls, Acid Mothers Temple, Os Mutantes and Bubble Puppy among others. And yes, they have been inspired by all of the above and quite a few other Texas (and elsewhere) psych luminaries, Erickson particularly included.

It is that old (and always exciting) psych sound that India Tigers in Texas have brought to these current times.
