Massimo Pupillo has an impressive pedigree – he is the founding member of Zu, and an accomplished musician having played on over 50 albums, and played over 2000 concerts worldwide. He teamed up with composer, producer, engineer and musician, David Chalmain, and acclaimed musician Raphaël Séguiner in 2011, and the result is Triple Sun.
Coming from very different worlds: classical, avant-garde and rock, the three musicians at the heart of Triple Sun took on the challenge to engage in songwriting that would be both simple and full of inspirations coming from their very different backgrounds.
The City Lies In Ruins was recorded in Rome and Paris, with David Chalmain at the helm across multiple sessions in 2014 and 2015.
Echoes and Dust’s Charlie Gardner says: “Brooding and magnificent, The City Lies In Ruins is a soundscape of dark and doomy beauty painted in a minimalist palette. A tone poem of whispered mantras that cocoon your consciousness, transporting it to the mind’s eye of its narrator. Entrancing, euphoric and utterly compelling, Triple Sun’s seamless soundtrack is a post-rock page turner.”
The City Lies In Ruins by Triple Sun will be released via Consouling Sounds on May 13, 2016. Pre-orders are available now through here.
