Klaagrituelen by Bacht'n de Vulle Moane
Release date: December 21, 2024Label: Haunted By Ill Angels
We’ve stumbled upon a very interesting black metal reverberation from the end of 2024, which we can’t resist writing about. Bacht’n de Vulle Moane (Flemish slang for Outside The Full Moon) has dropped a remarkable debut album. Klaagrituelen (Rituals of Complaint) is a misanthropic album that steams from the damp cellars of the Belgian city of Kortrijk. Scum and A.A.K are the duo behind this obscure band, with almost no information to be found about them.
Bacht’n de Vulle Moane delivers a dark form of black metal that stands out due to its sharp guitar riffs and industrial electronic drum patterns, which rattle like a boxing speed bag platform, producing an addictive hypnotic vibe. The added synths not only release a creepy atmosphere within their haunting black metal cloud, but they also create breathable moments with electronic soundscapes and dark ambient passages woven between the riffs and the growling, echoing vocals. While deeply immersing in the five engrossing tracks, numerous electronic background elements rise to the surface.
With this album, Bacht’n de Vulle Moane delivers more than just black metal, they craft a hybrid structure that sounds both aggressive and ethereal. Klaagrituelen was released on tape and will be available on vinyl somewhere in April 2025. Belgium has another black metal gem standing alongside underground bands like Dudsekop, Kludde, Nachtmaer, Oerheks, Nyrak and Druon Antigon. Klaagrituelen is the kind of album that lures you into eremitism, slowly dissolving into misanthropic solitude.
